Xander Schauffele’s Draws: How to NOT Overdraw the ball

Xander has a few key movement patterns that help him create a right-to-left ball flight—while his rotation at impact keeps it under control.

1️⃣ Stay behind the ball

At impact, Xander's pelvis side bend is 12° and his chest side bend is 40°, both higher than the tour average.

That helps him stay behind the ball and deliver the club more from the inside.

His Sway Gap is -8.4" at impact, meaning his chest is 8.4 inches behind his pelvis.

2️⃣ Use rotation to manage the path

Here's where it gets interesting.

At impact, Xander's pelvis is 46° open and his chest is 35° open.

That rotation helps move his swing direction more to the left, counteracting the rightward path created by his other movements.

The result?

Enough from-the-inside to hit a draw, but enough rotation to keep it from turning into an overdraw.

It's a great example of how different parts of your movement work together to shape the shot—not just one number in isolation.
