The 7 Key Swing Positions
To better understand what the golfer is doing at different key positions in the swing, we have divided it up into seven positions that we are tracking.
The seven key body positions that we track throughout the swing:
- ADR: Address
- The frame before the club has started moving away from the ball
- BCH: Backswing club shaft horizontal
- Club parallel in the backswing
- TOP: Top of the backswing
- Frame when the club has changed from backswing (clockwise motion) to downswing (counter-clockwise motion) taken from a face on view, (reverse for a left-hander)
- DCH: Downswing club shaft horizontal
- Club parallel in the downswing
- IMP: Impact
- The last frame before the club hits the ball
- FCH: Follow through club shaft horizontal
- Club parallel in the follow-through
- FIN: Finish
- Frame when the club has the slowest angular speed after follow through shaft horizontal.
