What is Sway Gap?
Sway Gap measures the difference in body sway, giving valuable insight into movement patterns and swing direction.
Sway Gap is a valuable data point most widely brought to recognition by Sportsbox Ambassador, Terry Rowles. It gives coaches valuable insight into how a player pivots and how that movement influences swing direction
Definition: The sway difference of your body. Sway gap can allude to swing direction; for a right handed golfer, negative sway gap from the top into downswing can lead to more right swing direction while a positive sway gap is more left swing direction.

How to Apply Sway Gap
📍 At the Top of the Swing
- A more positive Sway Gap often indicates a lead-side pivot.
- A more negative Sway Gap often indicates a trail-side pivot.
📍 During the Downswing
- Negative Sway Gap typically encourages a more rightward swing direction, often producing an in-to-out club path.
- Positive Sway Gap often shifts swing direction left, creating a steeper angle of attack and a more out-to-in club path.
