Minjee Lee’s Powerful Drives: Creating Ground Force with Pelvis Lift

Currently ranked Top 25 in the world in 2026, Minjee consistently drives the ball over 270 yards—a testament to her efficient, powerful move.

Let’s take a closer look at what makes her swing so explosive:

Notice Minjee's Pelvis Drop and Lift patterns

 Speed through Ground Force

Backswing: Early in her backswing at BCH (backswing club shaft horizontal), she is already dropping her pelvis around 1.2". Her early pelvis drop allows her to load into the ground.

Top: By the TOP of her backswing, she's dropped another 0.8". That's nearly 2 inches of total drop! This setupset up in her backswing will allow her to use the ground and launch upward as she's going after the ball.

Impact: At IMP, Minjee's pelvis lift number is 2.5". That's a totalof o 3.3" lift from her lowest point to impact!

Why it matters:
More lift = more speed. By pushing into the ground and then lifting explosively, Minjee maximizes ground reaction force for elite club head speed.

At Sportsbox, we measure these moves in 3D so you can train them with precision—just like the pros.
