What is Hand Pull Down?
Hand Pull Down highlights where hands lower from the top of the backswing into the downswing, explaining transition and influence of the club’s path into impact.
Definition: Hand pull down is calculated as the max hand lift value minus hand lift value at top of backswing. Hand lift, which measures the mid point of your grip, is set to 0 at address and positive when they are higher than your address position.
Max hand lift occurs before the top of the backswing. As the player continues turning their chest, the arms are still moving back, naturally creating additional wrist hinge. Then, as the body lowers during the transition, the hands also settle into the top position and the hands lower.
