Creating Speed with Min Woo Lee: Creating Rotational Force
Min Woo Lee doesn't create speed by making a huge shift. He creates it through rotation.
His pelvis stays remarkably centered throughout the swing, and the numbers make it clear why that's important.
At the top:
- 34° of pelvis turn
- Just 0.1" of pelvis lift
- Just 0.4" of pelvis sway toward the trail side
He barely moves off center.
Then the downswing starts—and the rotation takes over.
When the club reaches horizontal, Min Woo's pelvis is already 35° open, compared to roughly 17–29° for the tour average.
By impact, he's 52° open.

That's a huge amount of rotation, and it's the primary way Min Woo generates speed through his lower body and transfers that energy into the club.
Centered pivot. Massive rotation. Elite speed.
Min Woo is a great example of how you don't need a huge lateral move or vertical lift to create speed. Sometimes, it's about learning to turn more efficiently.
