What is Chest Thrust?

Chest Thrust measures the chest movement and identifies movement patterns that may affect delivery and impact.

Definition: The forward or backward movement of the clubhead. It is set to 0 at address. It is negative when the club head is pulled back, positive when it is pushed forward.

How to Apply Chest Thrust

📍 Top → Impact — Monitor Chest Thrust
Track through the downswing and into impact to see how the chest is moving relative to its address position.

📍 Watch for Early Extension
A common pattern with early extension is the Chest Thrust becomes increasingly negative, moving away from the ball.

📍 Compare Chest & Pelvis Thrust
Look at Chest Thrust alongside Pelvis Thrust to understand how the upper and lower body are moving relative to the ball. This relationship can help identify compensations that may be difficult to spot visually.
