Cameron Young’s Iron Play: Consistency with Pelvis Movement

Under pressure, Cameron Young has one of the most solid iron games.

Two key impact imperatives show up clearly in Cam's swing:

1️⃣ Pelvis more open than the chest at impact

Cam's pelvis is about 41° open, while his chest is around 29° open.

That separation shows his lower body is leading the downswing—a key movement for avoiding a steep, “over-the-top” delivery.

2️⃣ Pelvis forward while the chest stays back

Cam's pelvis moves about 4.3 inches toward the target, while his chest remains behind it, creating a -4.2-inch Sway Gap.

This relationship helps create the forward low point and shaft lean needed for solid compression, while allowing the club to stay on a shallower delivery plane.

Open hips. Pressure forward. Chest staying back.

That's a combination you'll find again and again in elite ball strikers.
